The weather is finally getting warmer!  The jackets will soon disappear and the tank tops and bathing suits will be out!  You will be in 1 of 2 places…

You will be saying, “I am glad I did” or “I wish I had”.  Which one would you prefer?

Many of you have been training in the school for a long time…  this is both good news and bad.  The good news is that you have shown tremendous dedication to self improvement and empowerment!  Good Work.

The bad news is that showing up to class is no longer enough.  Your body has become accustomed to the movements and you no longer need to think about them.  In essence, your body has become more efficient; therefore, it doesn’t take you as many calories for the same amount of work.  Chances are that if you have experienced a plateau, this is why. 

What will it take for you to really change your body composition this year if you have been training for a while?  What will be the thing to put you over the edge and break that plateau?

I say there are two…

The first is high intensity.  Make the class your own.  Its your class…  go full out and commit to yourself that you will take it to the next level.

And two is hard work.  As much as I and many other people would like to lose 10 lbs in a week (like many of the magazines tout) it simply isn’t realistic.  What is?  Hard work for a prolonged period of time.  There are no shortcuts.

I invite you to take the next 6 weeks and play full out.  Leave it all on the mat.  When you are done, you could not have put any more effort into the class.  And then see what happens.

For those of you just starting, I urge you to do the same.  Make the class your own and play full out.

For those of you who have trained with us before…  you know that there aren’t many (if any) other programs that will get you in better shape.  I personally invite you to come back.  Whatever the reason for stopping before, lets both take a fresh look and recommit to your fitness goals.  If Stryker Martial Arts has made a mistake in the past, let us make it up to you by showing you how we have improved our program. 

If you left SMA on a sour note, water under the bridge.  Lets move on and make this year your best yet!
