Dojo News – Week of July 29, 2013

Quote of the Week

“The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails.”

-William Arthur Ward

Cardio Kickboxing! – Are you ready to burn 850 calories in our hour long, music pumping, sweat inducing, AMAZING cardio kickboxing class?  The cost is only $10 to start, and we’re limiting participation to just 20 participants (both students and nonstudents).  Call (203) 319-9989 today to sign up.  Our first class is at 6am on Monday August 5th!

Martial Arts in the Summer – The summer is a GREAT time to begin training in the martial arts.  Most kids are looking for an activity, and our adult students who ‘give’ themselves 45 minutes to train, often tell us how it elevates their mood (even in the oppressive heat!).  We all know someone who could benefit from training – so give them a card, and have them contact us to setup their first class!  You’ll be helping them out, as well as ensuring that you have a buddy in class.  It’s a win-win situation!

Karate News – We’ve been focusing on ‘eye contact’, and its importance in communication with people.  They’re doing a great job so far!  .

Kickboxing News – We’ve added to our combination again!  Spinning back-fists anyone?  Yep, we’re doing it!

August Testing – Our next test will be on Thursday August 29th.  There will be no regularly scheduled classes on testing day.  Our Karate test will begin at 6pm, and the kickboxing test will begin at 7:15pm.
